Cultural Routes
Santa Anna's church
This cultural route starts in Alcúdia bordering Pollentia until you reach Santa Anna's, a church build in the 13th century. It is open and can be visited in the morning.
ROUTE
- Departing from Alcúdia towards the harbour through Plaça de Jaume Qués.
- Follow the road to the Sports Centre for ca 400 m, you'll border the Roman ruins and a few meters further you'll find Santa Anna's church.
There is evidence of this building by Diego Espanyol in the 13th century with the name of Santa Maria de la Torre. It is located halfway between Alcúdia and its harbour. It was recently declared BIC (Site of Cultural Interest).
It is one of the most well-preserved resettlement churches on the island. It has a double-slope nave with a facade bedecked by an image of the Verge de la Bona Nova above the round-arched portal. The facade is crowned by a wall belfry. The church has been renovated four times. The last time was in 1980.
