Surroundings
Palma, a lot more than just the Cathedral and Bellver castle
Palma lies among hills that overflow vegetation and opens to the calm Mediterranean Sea. The gothic quarter is the heart of the city. The streets twist around in a labyrinth of ancient old stones. The Catedral (La Seu) is one of Palma's landmarks together with Almudaina Palace and Bellver Castle, and many other outstanding places such as Lonja, Born, Plaza Cort and Plaza Mayor. These are some picturesque areas of this extraordinary city. Your senses will enjoy its Mediterranean atmosphere, its cosmopolitan insularity.
Palma is a glamorous city, not only because of its museums or the jet set that visit it every year, but also for its natural, racially-mixed elegance due to the many civilizations that have inhabited the island (Romans, Arabs, Catalans, Corsairs, …). Palma is a must for everyone who comes to Mallorca.
