Christmas is the last holiday of the year

In Christmas there are a lot of concerts, Christmas carols and Nativity Scenes contests and religious acts such as the matines on December 24 (that night the chant of the Sibil·la is performed).

Christmas Day is a day in which families get together and enjoy high lunch. The next day is also a public holiday called the Segona festa de Nadal (second Christmas Day). It's also a great day in our history because it commemorates the victory of the alcudiencs against the agermanats five centuries ago.

The end of the year is specially entertaining and historical because it commemorates the island's conquest by Jaume I. The alcudiencs eat twelve grapes at midnight on this Eve, by the town hall. The year starts with kisses, hugs, cava and a live concert.
