In Alcúdia you can also find the residential areas of Alcanada, Sa Marina, Barcarés, Morer Vermell, Manresa, Mal Pas and Bon Aire. Alcanada is a residential nucleus of great natural beauty, where is located a small island with a lighthouse built in 1856 and a pebble beach . Its development began in the thirties of the XX century driven by landscape architect Nicolau Rubió i Tudurí , which projected a fishing village of which its original identity is still preserved . On the former possession of Alcanada it has now been developed a major tourist resort with hotels and a golf course , considered one of the best in the world. Sa Marina is a residential area mostly occupied by holidaymakers of the island. Can Capdebou, its beach, is located between l'Albufereta and the Bay of Pollença. Due to its geographical conditions of shallow water it is an ideal place for wind water sports (surfing, windsurfing, paddlesurf , skysurf , rowing, sailing ...) . Following the coast you will find the areas of the Morer Vermell and Barcarés, where low buildings complete the residential area of rocky coasts and shallow waters. Between these two areas there is the small port of the Barcarés , which is so named because it was here where traditional boats were built , and where the minor historic port of Alcúdia stood , in ancient times.
The areas of Manresa and Mal Pas stand out for its two small beaches located between limestone cliffs: Sant Joan and Sant Pere. Next to the latter there is a fortification, the Manresa Castle , now converted into a residence. The first colony of Summer holidays on the island of Mallorca was installed on old farms in these two areas at the end of the 19th century.
Currently you can observe some of the first traditional summer residences. Alongside these two resorts was established, in the last third of the 20th century , the modern residential area of Bon Aire with its nautical club El Cocodrilo.
