5- Sa Trencagarrons 2008, the ciclyst ascent
Sa Trencagarrons is a very traditional cycling tour in Mallorca. It is the hardest and the only one that goes to the island's highest peak, Puig Major, from where you can enjoy an outstanding view. Puig Major is a military area with a limited access.
This year (2008) this tour will start at the age-old walls of Alcúdia and will end at the Puig Major, at a place called les bolles. It is not a competition, quite the opposite. Anyone brave enough to finish the 120 km-long tour is allowed to take part. This year more than 400 cyclists are expected to participate in Sa Trencagarrons 2008.
