What to buy?

You won't find it hard to find shops in Mallorca. All tourist areas, inland villages and towns have plenty of them offering from Mallorcan produce to international companies items at low prices.

A good way to discover the local produce is the workshops on the plain of Mallorca. They elaborate pottery pieces like pots and siurells, the traditional roba de llengües (patterned cloth) or coloured glass.

Leather is one of the most prestigious industries in Mallorca. Some local companies such as Camper, Farrutx and Lotusse have contributed to promote this product. You'll find them in Inca, the leather town.

Another Mallorcan product is the Manacor pearls, a craftsmanship that has turned into an exporting industry.

Local gastronomy deserves a separate mention. The typical ensaïmada is always welcome, and so are the wine with designation of origin and many other Mallorcan products. Alcudia market has great prestige. It takes place every Tuesday and Sunday.

In the most important shopping streets in Palma you'll find international designer labels.
